WHERE IT BEGAN

A website project became an education in how businesses grow

The story began in 2006 with two ecommerce websites built for a retail business.

As online demand grew, the work quickly expanded beyond the websites themselves. Marketing, inventory, customer information, fulfillment, reporting, and internal processes all had to develop together.

That work helped the company grow from a retail operation into a multimillion-dollar business supported by an 18,000-square-foot warehouse. It also established a lesson that continues to shape Biggs Systems: sustainable growth depends on the systems behind the sale just as much as the activity that creates it.

A CONTINUING PRACTICE

One line of work, developed across different roles

2006

Ecommerce foundations

Built the online systems that helped a retail business reach customers beyond the storefront.

Next chapter

An independent company

Applied those lessons to help other businesses improve marketing, technology, and operations.

Deeper partnership

Inside the businesses

Moved from outside advisor to embedded leadership with companies that had first been clients.

Today

Biggs Systems

Brings that experience together as a focused partner for connected growth and operational improvement.

RELATIONSHIPS BUILT OVER TIME

Long-term work creates a different kind of understanding

Two businesses that began as clients later became places where the work continued from within. Those relationships now carry forward into Biggs Systems—adding years of operational context to the technical work.

ON DUTY GEAR

From client relationship to embedded growth

Systems, ecommerce, marketing, and operational work supported the company as it grew to become Michigan’s largest body armor supplier.

MARTINO HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Building the foundation for scale

Marketing and operational systems helped support growth from startup-stage beginnings to approximately $7 million in annual revenue.

WHY BIGGS SYSTEMS NOW

The next chapter of work that has been developing since 2006

Biggs Systems brings together experience in ecommerce, technical marketing, CRM and ERP platforms, integrations, data migration, analytics, automation, AI, and business operations.

The goal is not to sell a particular platform or add technology for its own sake. It is to understand the business, strengthen the connections between its systems and people, and make useful progress without unnecessary complexity.

WHAT GUIDES THE WORK

Experience has a way of simplifying the important decisions

01

Understand the operation

Begin with how the business actually works, not only the initial technical request.

02

Strengthen what works

Improve useful systems and processes before assuming they need to be replaced.

03

Connect activity to outcomes

Marketing, customer systems, operations, and reporting should reinforce one another.

04

Build for ownership

Create solutions people can understand, maintain, and monitor after implementation.

05

Use AI with purpose

Apply automation and AI where they improve productivity while preserving appropriate judgment and review.

06

Avoid unnecessary complexity

The best solution is usually the clearest one that reliably solves the real problem.

THE FOUNDER

Jim Biggs

Jim founded Biggs Systems after more than 25 years working with technology and nearly two decades helping businesses connect it to marketing, customer experience, and operations. His perspective comes from building systems, leading implementations, supporting migrations, and living with the day-to-day results—not simply recommending tools from the outside.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Build the next stage on stronger systems

Start with the process, platform, or growth challenge creating the most friction. We can work outward from there.
